Job Description

What you tell your friends you do...

I’m all about the user experience. Everything a user sees and interacts with, that’s what I’m responsible for. It needs to be slick, efficient and intuitive which is all down to me.

What you will really be doing...
Creating remarkable product experiences that our users love, using modern technologies
Being a great designer who contributes to the design community and pushes the bar for design quality and user experience
Wrap your head around complex yet interesting problems every day
Mentoring, motivating and guiding more junior designers across the Aize design team
Working alongside product managers, developers and fellow designers making sure that we build the right thing
Contributing to shaping the culture and methodology of a fast-growing software company focusing on design and end-user obsession.

How will you be doing this:

You will be joining one of our core product teams working on the Aize Workspace, leading the design work from the conceptual phase through insights and validation to finalized UI design. You are the key advocate for our end users within your area, continuously seeking to solve their real-life problems in the best possible way. Together with product and tech, you are responsible for delivering industry-leading designs that align with the work being done across multiple teams. This means that you need to be proficient in the full range of product design tools and techniques, collaborative by nature and curious to understand how the industry we live within actually works.

Where you will be doing this
You will be based in Oslo, but we have the flexibility for you to work from anywhere when needed. Nestle in one of our cabins by ski centers like Gaustablikk, Hafjell or Hemsedal, relax on a balcony with an ocean view or even visit family and friends around the world (and make sure to take some days off to spend quality time with them) while carrying out your work. While we encourage flexibility in your preferred work style, it is important to harmonize amp; integrate that with the needs of your team and colleagues while maintaining your base in Oslo.

What we have worked on and where we are going
We have set a product vision for the future and defined a one-product strategy for Aize. We are now moving into the execution phase and are in need of more doers who want to challenge themselves as well as us as a product company.

As an organization, we’re constantly evolving which means that a lot of opportunities will appear as we move forward. Maybe you want to be an expert in a particular area or pivot in a new and interesting direction? At Aize you’ll have the opportunity to explore and evolve together with us.

Team
We are establishing several new product teams to further assist our growth, and we need experienced and hands-on designers to take a leading design role within these teams. In addition to this, you will be working very close with other teams at Aize and contribute to the development of the entire product due to the interconnected nature of our work.

Who we think you are

  • Passionate about technology and driven by problem-solving - we care about what we do, and so should you
  • Able to focus on what matters and where the complexity lies, not spending time on simple patterns or flows that could easily be copied from somewhere else.
  • Responsible and courageous - innovation is not something that just happens. You ask questions, participate in discussions and disagree with your colleagues when needed; we will never solve a real problem without exploring our options. In essence; dare to be wrong
  • Curious and always on the lookout for improvements in how we work - that being how to elevate design quality in Aize, how we do design critiques or how customer support and their knowledge can elevate how our product is being built.
  • You take pride in pushing how our app looks and feels, and are not afraid of providing clear but constructive feedback to your fellow designers.
  • Hands-on and visual. You think best when drawing on a whiteboard and you continuously create design concepts as you navigate through your design approach.
  • Able to take initiative and rally others around your design vision for your product area - also contributing to the design direction of Aize as a whole.
  • Selfless and collaborative, always eager to share your knowledge with
