DOF Group Legal serves the DOF Group ASA as well as all group companies worldwide. The Legal department currently consists of more than 15 highly skilled professionals located in Bergen, Aberdeen, Perth, Houston and Rio de Janeiro.
With rapidly increasing activity levels within the renewable and energy markets globally, we are expanding our legal team and are looking for one Senior Legal Counsel to the Corporate department.
The Senior Legal Counsel will be a central part of the corporate legal team, reporting to the Group General Counsel. The main focus of this role is to review, advise and negotiate subsea and vessel charter contracts with external customers and business partners, as well as acting as legal advisor in all corporate law matters. You will also advise on legal matters related to the DOF Group`s comprehensive sustainability commitments as well as managing and coordinating external legal advisors to the Group in general. An important part of this role is also to maintain and develop the Group`s contracting principles in close cooperation with the global legal team.
Requirements
- Master of Laws from a Norwegian University/Advokat
- A minimum of 8 years’ relevant experience from major companies within the international energy industry, shipping and/or from recognized law firms
- Strong legal knowledge and understanding of contract law
- Experience and knowledge from working with corporate law in general in an international environment.
- Strong negotiations skills combined with commercial understanding.
- High integrity and value driven
- Analytical and structured, with the ability to work independently and within short deadlines
- A good communicator with proficiency in Norwegian and English language
- Comfortable working within an international team of professionals
