Aker Carbon Capture is a dedicated carbon capture technology company. We serve a range of carbon-emitting industries including cement, blue hydrogen, bio/waste-to-energy, and gas-to-power among others. Through our portfolio of projects, we are mitigating the environmental cost of industrial activity for a cleaner, more sustainable future. We see a daily growth in our market potential as a rising number of customers look to carbon capture utilization and storage (CCUS) and our company to solve their emissions challenges.

Aker Carbon Capture is one of the leading companies globally that has extensive knowledge of the entire CCUS value chain. We have many ongoing projects, from research and innovation, including pilot plant testing, to concept studies and to large EPC projects, both in Europe and in the United States. Today, we are delivering seven carbon capture units in Europe, with an accumulated capture capacity of 1 million tonnes of CO2. In Denmark, we are delivering five Just Catch 100 units to Ørsted, in the Netherlands one Just Catch 100 unit to Twence, and in Norway a Big Catch to Heidelberg Materials.

As a Technology specialist and carbon capture process including heat integration, you will be part of the technology specialist department, and are to ensure sound implementation of the technology in studies, projects and product development.

Tasks will include:

  • Conceptual evaluations for carbon capture, heat integration and CO2 handling.
  • Responsible to establish documents (PFD, Heat and mass balances, data sheets and more) to ensure correct implementation of carbon capture process, heat integration and CO2 handling in studies and execution projects.
  • Ensure that technical specifications and procedures associated with carbon capture process, heat integration and CO2 handling have the necessary quality in projects and products
  • Interact with customers as part of business development and project execution.
  • Contribute to Ramp;D projects to develop solutions for carbon capture, heat integration and CO2 handling.
  • Identify and assess patentable inventions related to ACC technology.

You have:

  • Knowledge and experience from process technology and thermal energy systems.
  • Knowledge and experience from process simulations.
  • Good understanding of technology development and qualifications
  • Knowledge of carbon capture CO2 compression and CO2 utilisation technologies is considered an advantage.
  • Knowledge from flue gas handling and emission control equipment is considered an advantage.
  • Knowledge of steam turbines and steam systems is considered an advantage.
  • Experience from the process industry, thermal power and/or engineering companies is considered an advantage.
  • Experience from implementing research, development amp; innovation results into industrial applications.
  • MSc or PhD within Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Physics or similar.
  • Minimum 3 years work experience or PhD.
