Job Description

We are looking for a proactive and dynamic Financial Controller to play a pivotal role in our finance department. The role will contribute to scaling and running Aize’s financial operations, overseeing various accounting-related responsibilities in our growing tech business. The role aims to establish a robust foundation for Aize’s financial and commercial development and will serve as a crucial collaborator for management and commercial teams, facilitating well-informed financial decisions. This role reports to the Head of Financial Accounting and is an integral part of a wider team of finance professionals dedicated to keeping Aize primed for growth.

What you will really be doing

Facilitate Aize's financial operations through oversight of daily accounting processes and working capital management, including frequent interaction with commercial teams as required.

Manage the financial reporting cycle, including reconciliation of monthly, quarterly, and annual results, group reporting, and statutory financial statements for all Aize’s legal entities.

Coordinate and manage the Group’s annual audit process with external auditors.

Develop and maintain processes for tracking and reporting ESG metrics and

Contribute to tax reporting and payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.

Facilitate and implement improvements in financial systems and processes, including leading the implementation of a new ERP system (NetSuite).

Collaborate across departments, fostering a culture of transparency, responsibility, and initiative.

Research and resolve accounting issues and judgments, including the evaluation and implementation of new accounting standards.

Bring a wider perspective to tasks and partner with the wider business to solve financial and operational issues with a commercial and practical mindset.

Provide insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making.

Who we think you are

  • You have 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role with a track record of handling diverse financial opportunities. Having a background in audit and/or operational accounting experience is an advantage.
  • You have a degree or higher education in accounting, business administration, or a related field. Additional certifications such as CPA or CA are an advantage.
  • You have a good understanding of accountancy and operational finance and have a good grasp of IFRS and its practical application in a growing business.
  • Your experience includes successfully implementing financial systems or playing a significant role in system-replacement projects. Experience with NetSuite implementation is an advantage.
  • You have a good understanding of tax and have some experience with tax returns, filings, and compliance.
  • You have a good understanding of the wider impact of financial decisions on company goals. Your communication skills are excellent, and you can convey financial insights to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
  • You enjoy getting involved and enjoy solving operational challenges and complex problems, and know how to implement smooth and practical processes with an open can-do mindset.
  • You are a quick learner with financial systems and IT, and are comfortable in Microsoft Excel.
  • You embrace a wider perspective, understanding how financial decisions impact the broader goals of the company.
