Aker Carbon Captureis a leading carbon capture technology company.

Aker Carbon Capture is one of the leading CCUS companies globally and has extensive knowledge of the entire value chain. We have many ongoing projects, from research and innovation, including pilot plant testing, to concept studies and to large EPC projects, both in Europe and in the United States. Today, we are delivering seven carbon capture units in Europe, with an accumulated capture capacity of 1 million tonnes of CO2. In Denmark, we are delivering five Just Catch 100 units to Ørsted, in the Netherlands one Just Catch 100 unit to Twence, and in Norway a Big Catch to Heidelberg Materials.

Fabrication Engineer will follow up the fabrication of the equipment, components, skids, and structures in the suppliers yards according to the project targets on health, safety, environment, quality, schedule, and cost.

This is a contractor role, starting from 2nd May 2024 with initial end dates 15th Sept. 25 with possibilities for extensions.

Intensive travels to 4 fabrication yards globally are to be expected. Each trip around 1-2 days and around 8 trips per month.

Accountabilities

  • Be proactive and take an active role in risk assessments and follow up / take action on risk reducing activities.
  • Fabrication engineering required for performance of the Work including piping and pipe support.
  • Define scope of work split between prefabrication and site installation in order to lower the overall duration and costs
  • Manage interfaces towards Project Engineering including timely issuing of Fabrication engineering documents.
  • Manage engineering interface towards subcontractors amp; suppliers
  • Actively contribute in Method considerations for installation activities.
  • Follow up and check fabrication documentation according to schedule and quality requirements
  • Field engineering services as required for performance of the Work
  • Prepare reports for the Construction Manager and other internal/external customers including consolidated project schedule and summary updates, at least give weekly input to planning regarding progress in fabrication engineering activities.
  • Contribute to the Establishment of required Fabrication Engineering Organization and man up accordingly.
  • Establish Work Orders for both prefabrication and installation work.
  • Keep close contact with supply chain/ procurement regarding onboarding of construction materials.
  • Proactive notification of potential changes to scope of work
  • Participate in preparation of Variation Order Requests, and implement accepted Variation Orders with regards to schedule, manpower and cost plans

Knowledge/Skills Required

  • Excellent verbal and written English language skills
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to influence and learn
  • Advanced knowledge of fabrication methodologies
  • Analyse complex issues and problems and come up with rational judgments
  • Demonstrate specialist knowledge and expertise in own area

Qualifications/Experience Required

  • At least 5 years of relevant fabrication or construction experience
  • Experience of working in multidisciplinary and international teams
  • Demonstrate specialist knowledge and expertise in own area
  • Preferably 3+ years’ experience from EPC onshore/offshore development and construction projects

Educational Background Required

  • Technical and/or commercial education MSc or BSc, or similar higher education
  • Technical background, relevant work experience may supersede educational requirements.
