The Role:
Rystad Energy is in search of ambitious and motivated analysts to contribute to the development of one of our core Energy Transition related products. As we continuously enhance and expand our product offerings, these new roles will play a pivotal part in our ongoing growth. Our products rely on a wealth of factual data, sophisticated in-house data management systems, and advanced forecasting tools that model the intricate dynamics of global energy systems.
In this round of hiring, we are seeking strong candidates to join us as Data Analysts in the team responsible for developing our Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) Solutions.
CCUS Solution:
Rystad Energy's CCUS Solution provides comprehensive data and research coverage for the global CCUS market. This includes information on announced CCUS projects, economic models, global point-source CO2 emissions, assessments of geological CO2 storage potential, and CO2 utilization technologies. The CCUS sector is at the forefront of the energy transition, with governmental energy policies worldwide increasingly supportive of its critical role in future decarbonization efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain detailed databases containing factual drivers to support the development of CCUS data tools
- Conduct in-depth analyses of industrial assets worldwide, covering capacities, energy and feedstock demand, emissions, financials, historical data, and forecasts.
- Model supply and demand for CCUS across various energy system scenarios.
- Integrate pilot Excel-based models into the production pipeline using Python, SQL, and Power BI.
- Conduct research on product-related topics such as decarbonization of industry, developments in CCS technologies, and applications.
- Collaborate with the global CCUS team across multiple Rystad Energy offices, as well as with adjacent product teams and other stakeholders.
- Participate in the analysis of Rystad Energy data to provide the factual basis for publications and commentaries.
- Contribute to management consulting projects within the energy transition sphere on an ad-hoc basis.
Desired Qualifications:
We are looking for individuals with high energy levels, determination, and strong analytical abilities, coupled with excellent data analysis, communication, and presentation skills.
- A degree in data science, computer science, mathematics, physics, or other quantitative fields.
- Relevant working or internship experience in petroleum, carbon capture, the energy value chain, decarbonization, or renewable energy is advantageous, though not mandatory.
- A strong passion for data analytics and modeling.
- Proficiency in Python and/or SQL, as well as Power BI or similar tools.
- Comfort with the core Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
- A strong enthusiasm for the energy transition.
- Proactive and independent, with a self-starting attitude.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment that is both demanding and multicultural.
- Capacity to translate complex data and concepts into understandable insights for colleagues.
- Fluent in English, both verbal and written.
