The Marine Products division of Wilhelmsen Ships Service (WSS), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Wilhelmsen Group, supplies thousands of different vessel maintenance products, to thousands of different customers, in all corners of the world. This entails a complex supply chain and logistics network, and part of our competitive advantage is and will be to be the leading player in this regard. Improvements in our supply chain and logistics are of high strategic importance in Wilhelmsen, and we are continuously working to improve this crucial function in our business. To help us gain even better insights into our whole business network, and to be a leading force in major improvements, we are now searching for a Supply Chain Analyst.
This global role will report to the Business Control Manager, and simultaneously work and collaborate closely with the VP Supply Chain and other executive team members in addition to our Procurement department. The supply chain analyst will have the overall responsibility to proactively analyze the movement of goods through the WSS Marine Product (MP) supply chain, assess distribution centers’ efficiency, inventory turnover, supply chain structure including freight costs, and based on this develop and maintain sophisticated optimization models as input to the entire WSS MP’s supply chain design.
The role requires combining quantitative and technical abilities with a business-oriented mindset, seniority and communication abilities to convey findings to top management, and simultaneously having the detailed knowledge and capabilities to design and execute required analyses and tasks.
