Job Description

The Quality team
  • Close collaboration with the Security department’s SIC team (Security Insight and Control) on the combined management system (ISMS and QMS). Running, maintaining, and continual improvement of the management systems
  • Internal audits, external audits, certification audits, and management reviews. Preparation, execution and follow up on the outcome.
  • Risk management. Management of risk registry, asessment, assignment of owners, follow up, and reporting.
  • Nonconformities: Handling of reported and identified nonconformities. Classification, prioritization, and reporting. Follow up on corrective actions.
  • Follow up on actions identified in Post Mortem, and RCAs after Information Security and Service Incidents
  • Support and enablement of teams in developing, improving, and documenting workflows and processes. Act as a resource for teams and departments in their work to meet the Quality Objectives of Cognite.
  • Educate Cognite employees on Quality and the management system.
  • Quality objectives, policy and plan, Incident response, process mapping, and maintenance of documented information.
  • Reporting on the effect of the management systems and their sub-systems. Monthly Service Review, management meetings, and KPIs for the board.
The QMS manager role

The QMS manager will be responsible for increasing quality focus, simplifying and standardizing the approach for meeting quality requirements in Cognite. Quality awareness and continual improvement are the main objectives. The QMS lead will own quality enablement and will be a resource for teams and departments that are working on improving workflows and processes.

Cognite will establish ways of working that are based on requirements in the relevant ISO standards without using the Standards’ requirements alone as the justification. The Cognite Quality team’s philosophy on ISO 9001 and ISO27001 compliance is that it happens as a natural part of processes and workflows established by departments and teams themselves. Teams and departments optimize their processes to meet quality and efficiency objectives, and no requirement on process step or documentation item should be justified by the ISO requirements alone.

  • Running, maintaining, and continual improvement of the Management System (MS). The MS is currently a combination of ISMS and QMS, and the ambition is to manage additional ISO certifications by extending this combined management system. Cross organization alignment on MS processes, reporting, and tooling.
  • Customer focus and product quality. Supporting engineering organizations with process work, tooling, and documentation to enable continual improvement, customer focus, risk-based decisions, and leaving sufficient evidence behind.
  • Reporting of Quality Management System (QMS) and Information Security Management System (ISMS) performance
  • Enablement/readiness for staff assigned to responsibilities/authority for various activities of the QMS and ISMS.
    • Risks and mitigation: processing, assessment, assign owners, and follow up on actions past deadline. Work with risk owners, assist with the action plan and resource constraints.
    • Nonconformity and corrective action: be in charge of the nonconformity and corrective action processes.
    • Educate the organization on Quality Objectives and the Management System approach for achieving them.
  • Internal and External audit planning, execution amp; follow up.

Requirements

The Quality Manager will be working with teams and managers from sales, customer success, legal, HR, and engineering. The main focus is to be a resource for QMS and ISMS, and as a candidate, you should have experience within one or more of the following areas: software support and development, cloud services, Quality Assurance, Information Security, and project management. Additionally, we also look for a person that has several of the following skills and experiences:

  • You have experience from a SaaS company
  • You have experience from software development
  • You have experience from customer-facing roles in software/SaaS company
  • You are naturally curious and eager to learn more
  • You are structured, goal-oriented, and able to adapt to changing priorities
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Able to work efficiently with developers, sales, consultants, and department managers
  • 10+ years of experience in the IT industry
