As an Authentication and Authorization Engineer you will join the Engineering department where we focus on building and running the Cognite Data Fusion (CDF), which provides a digital representation of industrial reality through a robust and scalable API. We don’t build technology for technology’s sake, but rather to have an impact in the world’s most challenging industries. About the team

The auth team is responsible for guarding access to data in CDF- making sure that those who should have access do, and those who shouldn't don’t. This mission encompasses the necessary code, services, and tools, as well as guiding other teams and services in Cognite to keep a sense of consistency and coherency.
The team currently consists of a tech lead and three software engineers, with support from the product management, architecture, and security teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain secure authentication, authorization, and Identity Access and Management (IAM) code
• Guide development of secure code internally and of external/third party applications
• Guide development of new features and interfaces to secure data and control access to CDP
• Assist in debugging customer requests/issues working with the API, with emphasis on access control/authorization/authentication

About you:

• You should have experience in one or more of the following statically typed programming languages: C#, Java, Kotlin, Rust, Go, or Scala, and some familiarity with Python, bash, SQL.
• You enjoy making things happen and accepting responsibility for the results
• You should have experience with some of the following authentication tools: OpenID Connect / SAML SSO / ADFS
• You are open minded, and cooperate well with others; share knowledge, experience and information; support others in the pursuit of team goals
• You have a bachelors or more in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
• You have a proficient background in networking, operating systems, and security
• You have 3+ years of full-time engineering experience with Java, Kotlin or any similar compiled, statically typed language
• You have 1+ years of experience with any database or datastore
• You have experience with distributed systems
