Job Description


The Cognite Academy delivers onboarding workshops, self-service technical documentation, and training content to help users, developers, and partners get the most out of Cognite’s software products.

To drive adoption, engagement, and retention and to increase customer satisfaction, we work in close cooperation with other teams and domain experts in Cognite.

We’re looking for a skilled technical writer to join our team. You will work closely with the other Academy team members and with our engineering teams to communicate complex information clearly, consistently, and concisely. You will be a part of a team of four tech writers in Oslo, so we can offer you a strong professional environment with lots to share and learn. We use agile methodologies and a docs-as-code workflow, and you can expect to have a high degree of autonomy and a significant impact on our product terminology and design.


Tasks and responsibilities

  • Know the users’ goals and be an active user advocate.
  • Own the words and terminology in the UIs, in screen readers, in error messages, in help articles, in APIs and SDK.
  • Contribute to design, usability, and coherence across products, experiences, and APIs and SDKs.
  • Understand product roadmaps, and drive user assistance planning and align communication and milestones with engineering, customer success, support, and marketing.
  • Develop and deliver quality user assistance according to plans, team milestones, and releases.
  • Use feedback from users, support, and marketing to continuously improve user assistance content and experiences.
  • Connect with user communities and participate in customer and partner connection activities.
  • Collect, categorize, and analyze product feedback and communicate findings to product teams.
  • Help developers and partners use and extend our products through quality API/SDK documentation.

  • Minimum 2 years of technical writing experience working closely with software developers or product management teams.
  • Proficient in content publishing tools and technology.
