THE MISSION

Reporting to the Head of Department, you will:

  • Configuration Management:
    • Pilot of the configuration management process for the launcher system and the Launch Pad launch system that concerns him; authorization of proposed modifications in the program committees; approval of Operator responsibility instruction files within the meaning of LOS (Law on Space Operations) based on internal skills
  • Monitor the production of launchers and their sub-assemblies in order to:
    • Make the positive contribution of the launch operator to the industrial process
    • Anticipate the consequences and the treatment of any specificities (specific missions, modifications, anomalies, except family, induced impacts on other launch systems, etc.)
  • Manage the flight experience feedback:
    • Organization and animation of the level 0 operations process and the associated steering committee; validation of anomaly sheets, reports and / or presentations, based on internal skills
    • Monitoring and validation of the processing / closure of technical facts
    • Participation in working groups following a major anomaly
  • Manage the Quality Assurance and Product Assurance:
    • Participate in quality audits initiated by the Isar Aerospace Quality Department
  • Take care of the adaptation of the launcher to the mission:
    • Participate in the definition and monitoring of the development of specific hardware / software for the achievement of a mission in line with the activities of other departments
  • Be the CSG and ASC technical contact person for subjects relating to:
    • controlling the risks inherent in launch operations (Isar Aerospace's obligations under the Law on Space Operations)
    • controlling the qualification of the launch system (Qualification Monitoring)
  • Pilot of the process of justifying the flight capability of the launcher system as Launch Director
  • Technically contribute to the construction of the flight suitability file: review of anomalies, exemptions presented during the preparatory milestones for campaigns, during reviews (FRR, LRR) or during technical committees supporting the overall control and validation process

Requirements

WHO YOU ARE AND WHAT YOU HAVE

Musts:

  • A graduate of an engineering school or an equivalent in European University, holding at least 10 years of experience in the space sector, in particular in the field of launchers
  • The candidate ideally has:
    • expertise in Launcher’s electrical and/or propulsive systems
    • Background of the Launch Campaign and Operations
    • knowledge of the Laws in Space Operation
  • Passionate about new space, curious and eager to learn
  • Driven to deliver and constantly push the boundaries
  • Take ownership and accountability for your own actions and mistakes
  • Humble and willing to go out of your way to help others
  • Can-do attitude and outstanding communication skills
  • Fluent English. German is highly preferred

Nice-to-haves:

  • Autonomy and Solution maker are mandatory for this leadership role
  • The job request to be a permanent Norway resident. Speak Norwegian is then an asset
