Job Description

Talent Acquisition - a core function of our People team - is responsible for identifying, acquiring, assessing, and hiring the fantastic employees who help make Starling a success.

As a Talent Acquisition Specialist for Technology, from day one, you will focus on finding us fantastic software engineers, ensuring our candidates have a great experience. This will predominantly cover backend Java, mobile and infrastructure engineers. Over time, you’ll also begin to source candidates for us in other areas of Technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end to end recruitment process for our Software Engineering positions, as well as other roles within Technology, as required.
  • Sourcing, shortlisting and conducting first round interviews; evaluating candidates and providing feedback; through to offer negotiation and on-boarding.
  • Provide a great experience to all candidates.
  • Work closely with the Technology Talent Acquisition Partner to build, and manage MI to help drive data driven decisions about our sourcing strategy and hiring process.
  • Help raise awareness of Starling Bank, being a brand ambassador and always looking for new ways to showcase Starling as an employer of choice.

Requirements

  • A blend of agency experience plus time in a sourcing / talent acquisition role within an in-house function is preferred but, if you’re looking for your first internal role and think you’d be a great fit, tell us!
  • Evidence that you have supported the hiring of technology related positions (Software Engineering is essential, it’s a bonus if you’ve also hired in some of the other areas listed above).
  • Ability to work at pace, things move fast here at Starling so you’ll need to be comfortable working quickly.
  • Attention to detail. It’s the little things that matter, you should be able to demonstrate giving great candidate experience.
