Job Description

We’re looking for a UX writer to join a team of product managers, UX designers, and developers who collaborate to deliver great experiences seen by millions of people around the world. Preferably, you'll work in Oslo together with the Director of Design whom you'll be reporting to, but we're also open to candidates to work from one of our hubs in Spain, Poland, or Denmark.

The role

Work on new features

We’re looking for someone who’ll always advocate for the user and who’ll make informed decisions based on data, best practices, user feedback, and style guide alignment. Day to day, you’ll collaborate with product managers and designers to work on features for all of Kahoot!’s business areas. You’ll research, ideate, collaborate, get feedback from stakeholders and users, iterate, and test. You’ll also work with developers to ensure strings are created with the correct copy, address accessibility, work on edge cases, and answer copy questions.

Optimize and improve

You’ll find ways to improve features through words and better naming, as copy should grow and evolve with our users.

Voice and tone

You’ll ensure that the Kahoot! voice and appropriate tones are used in the product, and working to build and strengthen the Kahoot! voice and tone.

Consistency and alignment

Consistency is key, not just in tone but also in word choices, naming, and terminology. You’ll work to improve old content based on data and feedback, and you’ll work to maintain consistency with marketing copy and help center articles. You’ll also create and maintain string databases and documentation to help the product be more consistent.

Requirements

  • 1+ years professional writing experience, ideally writing interface copy for desktop and mobile (please send a portfolio with your application)
  • Native-level English (our in-product language is US English)
  • Experience working with designers, developers, and product managers as part of the product design process
  • Ability to optimize a product’s user experience through concise and compelling copy
  • You must thrive in an environment of fast feedback loops and a mindset of rapid prototyping and iteration

Nice to haves:

  • Sound knowledge of localization best practices, ensuring that content is translation ready with localization considerations applied
  • Knowledge of Figma
  • Experience in the creation and administration of UX/UI style guide and glossary
  • Fluency in another language is a plus
