Job Description
Newsec Maps is transforming the Nordic commercial real estate (CRE) industry, by developing a web-based SaaS platform to turn data into opportunities.
Digitalization is a new term in the CRE industry, even though it's one of the world's largest asset classes. The fact that it's such a big industry with huge values being transacted and managed, makes information and the speed of information extremely valuable. Today, most companies are subscribing to multiple different public sources, agency brokers, manual processes, and personal networks to receive information used in decision-making.
Newsec Maps collect, merge, and enrich data from legal, property, and commercial sources and make it accessible in a modern map-based user interface. The platform saves countless hours of manual labor and makes it easy for CRE companies to discover opportunities and manage assets.
Our team consists of 20 dare-to-dream people, 8 in Norway and 12 remote.
With several clients already using our solution, we are excited to plan for growth in the coming years - as a product designer, you will make a huge impact on our company and product.
In this role, you will be responsible for the product design, user experience and the design process in Newsec Maps. You are a hands-on designer who can see the big picture but is never afraid to dive deep into the details and deliver complete and holistic solutions to complex problems. You can think strategically to create a bold long-term vision and contribute to our product vision. You put the customer needs at the heart of every decision and strive to make data-informed choices that weigh in the realities of the business and the technical feasibility. You will work closely with our users in Norway, as well as the cross-functional team of developers and testers remote and in Oslo.
We are in the speeding up pace and as a team member, you will have the opportunity to help to shape the organization, working methods and technological direction. As we grow, you will be instrumental in building a bigger design team, together with the ret of the team.
- Overall responsibility for UX research and design in Newsec Maps
- Conduct research and gather user insights to identify user needs
- Take ownership of the design process, functions, and features
- Translate ideas and user insights from sketches and prototypes, to intuitive interfaces and high-fidelity designs
- Develop design specifications for implementation, and follow up on these throughout the implementation phase
- Develop information architecture
Requirements
- 3+ years experience designing, preferably high-quality solutions for web applications, all the way from ideation to finalized products.
- Great communication skills, ranging from understanding the technical side of the solution in working with the developers to being empathic and curious in meeting our users.
- Experience with modern design tools to help you prototype efficiently
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in relevant fields.
- Specialized experience with graphic design, UI design, and/or branding is a bonus, but not a requirement
- A portfolio added to your application, with a selection of your works, including designs for web.
