As the Engineering Director, you will be responsible for setting the technical direction and strategy for the area, and for ensuring the team delivers high-quality products on-time with limited resources. You will also be responsible for fostering a collaborative and innovative team culture, and for developing and mentoring team members to support their growth and development.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including operations team, riders, suppliers, city, and internal partners.
  • Drive innovation in embedded systems design and architecture to stay ahead of industry trends and competitive landscape.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.
  • Develop and implement best practices for embedded systems development, including design, testing, and documentation.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, and recommend new tools and methodologies to improve our development process.
  • Perform code reviews and ensure the team is adhering to coding standards.
About You
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in embedded systems development, with a focus on IoT.
  • At least 5 years of experience in managing high performing teams of engineers and managers.
  • Strong understanding of hardware design and software development principles for embedded systems.
  • Experience with ARM-based microcontrollers and SoCs.
  • Familiarity with wireless protocols such as Bluetooth, Zigbee, and Wi-Fi.
  • Good knowledge on CAN/ECU/BMS.
  • Knowledge of software development in C, C++, and Python.
  • Familiar with Linux development.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work effectively with teams in China, including managing communication and resolving any language or cultural barriers.
  • Fluency in Mandarin is a plus.

Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's skills, experience and other qualifications as well as the candidate's location of residence. In addition to base salary, some roles may be eligible for a variable bonus based on a combination of company performance, employee performance, and management discretion.
